The Drake Equation is an equation used to estimate the possible number of intelligent civilizations in the Milky Way Galaxy. It was created in 1961 by Frank Drake. Many of the elements in the equation are unknown, and it was created as a means to inspire a dialogue on the subject.
Tim Drake was the third Robin in the Batman comics.
In the Star Trek series Enterprise, one of the archaeologists who found the debris of a Borg cube on Earth in 2153 was named Drake. He was assimilated. There were also two starships named U.S.S. Drake, and a shuttlecraft on the U.S.S. Voyager also bore the name.

Jaylah
In Star Trek Beyond, Jaylah was an alien of an unnamed race that was stranded on Krall's planet. She assisted the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise when they were attacked and stranded there as well. She was a resourceful engineer, and she taught herself English from a database. Simon Pegg stated in an interview that the character was inspired by Jennifer Lawrence's character in Winter's Bone, and that Jaylah was dervied from her nickname, 'J-Law'.

In Star Trek, Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott was the Chief Engineer of the U.S.S. Enterprise. He also often manned the ship's transporter, and he was an expert in transporter technology. He developed transwarp beaming, and when he was stranded in a crash, he stored himself in a transporter buffer until his rescue 75 years later by the U.S.S. Entrprise-D.

Galileo
Galileo Galilei was a scientist that lived during the Renaissance. His astronomical observations fundamentally changed the way we view the universe. Among his contributions was the discovery of the four largest moons of Jupiter, now called the Galilean moons. His support of the heliocentric model of the solar system caused much controversy, and he was tried by the Roman Inquisition. He was sentenced to house arrest on June 22, 1633, a sentence which remained in effect until his death in 1642.

Miri
In the original Star Trek, Miri was a child who lived on a planet identical to Earth. The inhabitants of her world invented a virus that would greatly increase their life span. However, it proved fatal to adults. The children of the planet lived for hundreds of years in a long lasting childhood, but when they hit puberty, the virus killed them. Miri was just beginning to reach puberty when the U.S.S. Enterprise found the planet. The landing party became infected with the virus, and Miri developed a crush on Captain Kirk. For awhile she helped them, until she became jealous of Yeoman Rand. She helped the other children kidnap her, but Kirk convinced her and the other children that it was in their interest to help them cure the disease. After Dr. McCoy found a cure, the Federation sent people to provide aid and education to the children.

Vina
In the pilot episode of the original Star Trek, Vina was the sole survivor of the SS Columbia when it crashed on Talos IV. The inhabitants healed her, but in a disfigured form, because they had no idea what a healthy human looked like. The Talosians had strong telepathy, which they used to give her an illusion of beauty. They lured the U.S.S. Enterprise to their planet with a fake distress signal in order to find a mate for Vina. They captured Captain Christopher Pike for this purpose. When Pike demonstrated that humans would rather die than live in captivity, they deemed Pike unsuitable. Vina stayed behind because of her disfigurement. Thirteen years later, after Captain Pike was crippled, Spock brought him back to Talos IV so that he could rejoin Vina and live with her in the Talosians world of illusions.

Jadzia
Jadzia Dax was one of the main characters on Star Trek: Deep Space 9. She was from an alien race called the Trill, and she was host of a symbiont with whom she had a shared consciousness. Falcon
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Falcon is the code name for Sam Wilson. He was a test pilot for the EXO-7 Falcon mechanical wings. He left the military after losing his wingman, Riley. He became friends with Steve Rogers and helped him and Natasha Romanoff defeat the hydra agents taking over S.H.I.E.L.D. In Star Trek, Flavius Maximus was an alien from the planet 892-IV, which bore a striking resemblance to Ancient Rome. He was a gladiator who rejected the Roman way of life to follow the Children of the Son. He was recaptured and forced to fight in an area battle, and died trying to prevent the execution of Captain James T Kirk.

Logan
The name Logan can be found all over the sci-fi/fantasy world. The most prominent use is in the Science fiction novel turned film, Logan's Run. In the novel, people's lives were terminated once they reach the age of 21 in order to prevent overpopulation. The character Logan was charged with enforcing the rule by killing those who run. When Logan turned 21, he became a runner himself, and used an underground railroad to reach Sanctuary, a colony on Mars.

Natasha

Stephen Hawking is a theoretical physicist and cosmologist. Hawking suffers from ALS, which caused him to lose his voice. He communicates via a computer that generates speech.

Hawking Technology is a company that manufactures Wi-fi hardware.
Hawking fits in well with the current surname trend, and can be shortened to the very cool nickname, "Hawk". It doesn't appear in the Social Security Administration's name database, but the name Hawk was given to 33 boys in 2012. For parents in love with the sound of Hawk... why not add a few letters for a more brainy formal name?

Naming the Fishes had a great list of werewolf names, dragon names, and minotaur names. I think I like Zylo the best.

Hera
In Disney channel's Star Wars Rebels, Hera Syndulla was a Twi'lek and the owner of the freighter ship, Ghost. She also owned a droid named Chopper. She was an expert pilot and marksman. Her homeworld was Ryloth, and her father, Cham, led the resistance to the Empire there. She eventually left her world and became a member of the Rebellion.
Hera Tuix was a character in a Star Wars Novel, Yoda: Dark Rendezvous by Sean Stewart. She was a human Padawan during the Clone Wars.
In Star Trek, there was a Federation starship named the U.S.S. Hera.
There is a main belt asteroid named 103 Hera. One of Jupiter's moons, Jupiter VII was once informally called Hera, but now bears a different name.
There is a particle accelerator in Hamburg, Germany named HERA. It is short for Hadron Elektron Ring Anlage.
The name Hera comes from Greek Mythology. She was the wife and sister of Zeus, and she was the goddess of women and marriage. Hera the Goddess was a character in the Marvel Comics Universe,
and the Goddess Hera was also referred to as an alien of the same race as Apollo in an episode of Star Trek.
Hera has never appeared in the top 1,000 names in the United States. In 2012, 16 girls were named Hera.

Callisto
In X-Men, Callisto was a mutant who possessed superhuman senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. She was once a beautiful woman, but became scarred as a result of violent encounters with normal humans. She was the leader of the Morlocks, a group of mutants that lived in the sewers. She lost leadership of the Morlocks when Storm defeated her in a duel. She later became a servant of the wizard Kulan Gath. When she found herself in a new timeline, she became an ally of the X-Men and even rescued Professor X.
Callisto was a character in Xena: Warrior Princess and in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Callisto witnessed the death of her mother and sister at the hands of Xena, who killed them during a chaotic attack on her village. As a result of this trauma, Callisto became a ruthless and bloody warlord, who was out to get Xena. She died twice, became an immortal, then a God, then a demon, and ultimately an archdemon.
The Callisto series was a series of science fiction novels published in the 1970s by author Lin Carter.
In Doctor Who, the Callisto Pulse was a device that could disarm micro-explosives. River Song traded a Callisto Pulse for a vortex manipulator she needed to reach the Doctor.
In Star Trek, the U.S.S. Callisto was a Federation starship, and in a Star Wars novel, Callisto was the name of an Imperial Star Destroyer.
